Derrick Tuff delivered an exceptional presentation on personal advocacy at the DeafBlind Access of the South Retreat in 2025. His presentation made a lasting impression on our DeafBlind Retreat guests as well as our allies. He walked us through his POWER model to demonstrate that effective advocacy begins with understanding your own voice and having the confidence to use it. We especially appreciated that the talk was highly interactive and engaging, drawing real-world examples from the audience. Participants walked away feeling empowered, equipped with concrete advocacy strategies, and inspired to take a more active role in shaping their own futures. I wholeheartedly recommend Derrick to organizations looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable speaker who encourages audiences to transform awareness into action.

Derrick is a keynote speaker, nonprofit executive, public servant, and disability advocate. He combines education in communication and leadership with national service, nonprofit management, political participation, and lived experience to help people turn purpose into action.
